As reaction continues to pour in following the election of Donald Trump as the next
American President, a local politician says it should serve as a warning for Ontario.
Lambton Kent Middlesex MPP Monte McNaughton says
Trump will present some great challenges to our provincial economy.
McNaughton says, “He’s opposing a carbon tax and carbon pricing. This means that the Ontario Government needs to wake up and sharpen up. We have the most expensive energy in all of North America now in Ontario. We have 380,000 regulations and rules on the books. I’m urging the government to make Ontario competitive.”
McNaughton says having a pro-business president-elect in the US could cause a lot of problems for a province with so much red tape.
