It’s back to work for members of the Ontario Legislature today after the winter break.

Education is expected to take centre stage with a massive one-day strike in the works by all four major teachers’ unions in the province on Friday, leaving roughly two-million students out of class.

The unions say the sticking points in the dispute focus on special needs funding, mandatory e-learning, a slight wage increase, and the role of seniority in hiring practices, while the Education Minister maintains compensation is the major issue.

At this point, no new talks are scheduled.
