A victory for a local group pushing to have concrete median barriers installed along the 401 through Chatham-Kent and Elgin County.
The MTO released a statement yesterday saying that a concrete barrier will be built, but it will take time.
Minister Kathryn McGarry says the necessary planning work will need to be done, including an environmental assessment to widen the 401.
In the meantime, high-tension cables will be built in the next few months as a temporary measure.
