Municipal Service Review

A Chatham-Kent councillor is bringing a motion to tonight’s online council meeting to have an outside consulting firm conduct an audit and analysis of Chatham-Kent in an effort to find potential cost savings and efficiencies, while looking at such things as staffing levels and how the municipality provides services.

Councillor Michael Bondy, who is bringing forward the service review motion, previously said a neutral outside firm would be unbiased, compared to having the service review done internally by Chatham-Kent administration.

If council goes ahead with the motion, the plan is for the results and recommendations of the review to come back to council, where they would then make a decision whether to act on those recommendations in the service review report.
