As Chatham-Kent council moves towards meeting in-person for the first time in over 18 months, Councillor Joe Faas is bringing in a motion at a future council meeting, asking Chatham-Kent administration to prepare a vaccine policy for council members.

Also, he wants council to approve having citizen volunteer who sit on volunteer committees and boards be fully vaccinated or have an exemption, prior to the resumption of those committees meeting in-person.

Faas had intended to bring in a motion to have  Chatham-Kent administration look into implementing a policy mandating municipal employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Faas withdrew his motion prior to last night’s council meeting because administration was already working on a draft policy prior to Faas’ bringing forward his motion.
