Municipal officials want to hear how you think your tax dollars should be spent.
The municipality is launching an online tool that lets local residents craft their own municipal budget.
Using your own property assessment, the program gives an idea of what goes into divvying up tax dollars to fund various programs and services around Chatham-Kent.
Submitted citizen budgets will then be shared with council, and lets municipal officials know what services are most important to local residents.
The 2017 budget deliberations begin on February 1st, with a number of community information meetings taking place in mid-to-late January.
You can find the citizen’s budget tool here.
