A slight change in plans for a motion to suspend the municipality’s COVID vaccine policy for new employees.
Coun. Rhonda Jubenville had planned to bring in a motion at Monday’s council meeting to ask that the mandatory vaccination rules, which had still applied to Chatham-Kent’s new hires, be suspended.
However, Chatham-Kent’s executive management team beat her to the punch, suspending the mandatory vaccination rules for new hires on Dec. 7. Jubenville withdrew her motion.
Jubenville plans to bring in a motion at an upcoming council meeting to have Chatham-Kent’s senior executive team and council work together on any similar vaccination employment policies potentially impacting municipal employees.
