Municpality Looking Into Rotating Council Meetings

In his final play as a Ward Six councillor, Darrin Canniff is one step closer to changing the location of municipal council meetings.

Local representatives voted unanimously in having a report done that would delve into holding some council meetings every year in a different community in Chatham-Kent.

Canniff raised the idea during the election campaign as a way to help rural residents feel more included in the political process.

A report including costs and other logistical issues will be presented to the new council next month.
