The inpatient mental health unit of the CKHA is getting a $30,000 shot in the arm thanks to the efforts of a local woman.

Elisha Banks organized a night of music to support the event and says she wants to do it again.

“I couldn’t even imagine.  I started with $5,300, and I thought that was going to be a good number and then raise whatever we could at the event,” says Banks. “When tickets sold out in three days, clearly the community is invested in this idea and I was going to see what else I could do and it took off far beyond what I could have ever imagined.”

The event was held earlier this month and featured a half dozen local bands donating their talent.
