After a year of organizing, recruiting, and practicing, the Wallaceburg Concert Band is ready to perform for an audience.
The multi-generational band, with musicians ranging from 9 to 75, will perform a free show at WDSS Tuesday May 30th at 7pm.
Band Director Dave Babbitt says it’s actually two shows for the price of one.
“We’ll probably be an hour and a half to two hours because we’ve got not just one band, two bands,” Babbitt explains. “We’re also going to feature our beginner band, the ones who started from scratch on top of the ones who have some experience from the past.”
With the help of Musicounts Canada and the Wallaceburg and District Council for the Arts, this 60 member Concert Band is now equipped with new musical instruments.
