Chatham-Kent’s natural heritage committee of the whole, which is made up of Chatham-Kent council members, has its first official meeting in the books.

The committee outlined their plans as they will work towards reforming natural heritage planning and eventually making recommendations on issues such as rural woodlots and land-use planning in the municipality.

It was the preliminary meeting for the natural heritage committee of the whole.
Wallaceburg Coun. Aaron Hall was elected committee chair while South Kent Coun. Trevor Thompson was voted to serve as vice-chair.

The next natural heritage committee of the whole is scheduled for November 29. The committee will meet up in a number of meetings over the next few months.
