The NDP of Chatham Kent Essex met Friday night to elect a candidate to represent them in the June 12th election. Two very experienced and dedicated members of the party, Veronica Penfold and Dan Gelinas stepped forward but in the end it was Dan Gelinas who won the nomination and will now represent the NDP for Chatham Kent Essex.
Gelinas has worked on 38 elections both Federally and Provincially, as well as working with Chatham Kent Mayor Randy Hope in trying to bring investment to the area. Gelinas was very vocal about putting things like health care and utilities back into the hands of Ontario citizens, and working to assist farmers and grown the agriculture industry.
