Some good news for boaters around Chatham-Kent. The municipality installed a new dock Tuesday at Jeannette’s Creek, near the mouth of the Thames River.

Jeff Bray is the municipality’s Director of Parks and Recreation says the structure was ordered last year and this week was the first chance the municipality had to install the new one.

“The new system is an improvement because it will float better with the water levels as the river goes up and down,” Bray says. “I think it’s probably more accessible as well.”

This specially designed dock will raise and lower with the water so people will not get soaked when the river is higher.
