Parents in Chatham-Kent have a new option for childcare now that Kids Connection Daycare has opened their doors and opened registration.
This new business features a variety of vibrant indoor and outdoor- learning spaces and can accept children as young as 18 months and up to 7 years of age.
Kids Connection was set to launch on March 15, 2020, but faced delays due to the provincial COVID shutdown. As the province began reopening, they were able to offer a soft launch on June 23, 2020, which allowed a limited number of families to have their children attend the daycare. As of September 1, 2020, Kids Connection will be able to allow full capacity of 84 children in their space.
“We are approaching the September opening with cautious excitement,” said Lisa Walker, Executive Director of Kids Connection Daycare. “It will be wonderful to be able to help more families, and we also know how important it is that we do our absolute best to keep everyone healthy and safe. This is why we are working closely with agencies such as Public Health and the Ministry of Education to ensure that all COVID regulations and policies are followed.”
“Parents can rest easy knowing that we are doing frequent cleaning and disinfecting across the entire building, practicing social distancing, and making sure that everyone is washing their hands, as well as screening protocols are in place at the entrance to ensure everyone entering is healthy.”
Kids Connection is focused on making sure that every child belongs. Their environment is designed to offer a variety of unique materials and opportunities for children including an all-new modern facility, and secure outdoor play area that is over 6000 square feet! Each child’s day is meant to provide unique and valuable learning.
“All of our staff are Registered Early Childhood Educators along with qualified support staff who are passionate about guiding children to understand how learning happens. It is our mission to provide a safe, responsive, cheerful, nurturing environment where children can develop to their highest potential,” said Robin Jones, Operations Director. “From giant windows that light up the colours in every classroom, to a carefully crafted menu of meals and snacks, everything we offer is intended to help children reach their highest developmental capabilities.”
“We welcome Kids Connection Daycare to the community and it is great news for Chatham-Kent, especially as we continue to see more families choosing to move here,” said Jamie Rainbird, Manager of Economic Development. “It is important that as Chatham-Kent continues to grow, services such as high quality child care continue to keep pace and meet the needs of our residents.”
