While picking up a morning coffee at Tim Hortons this weekend, everyone will have the chance to add a donut to their order to support hundreds of athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Starting on Friday, Tim Hortons restaurants across Canada will offer a new donut with all sale proceeds being donated to Special Olympics Canada.
The “Special Olympics Donut,” a chocolate cake ring donut with white fondant, coloured sprinkles and whipped topping, will be available through February 4.
“The multi-coloured design was inspired by the themes of diversity and inclusion that are central to the Special Olympics mission,” Tim Hortons said in a news release.
This year’s Special Olympics Canada Winter Games will take place in Calgary from February 27 through March 2. The five-day competition will host more than 810 athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities, over 410 Special Olympics coaches and support staff, more than 1,200 volunteers, and over 1,000 family members.
