A major purchase to help support Chatham-Kent’s fire and emergency services will be on the table at tonight’s municipal council meeting.
A new walk-in rescue truck, with a value of $558,719.46, was pitched to the municipality by Industries Lafleur Inc.
The new truck would be utilized by fire and emergency services and designed to move personnel, tools, equipment, and other resources to an emergency.
On February 5, 2024 Chatham-Kent council approved the replacement of an 18-year-old rescue vehicle in Orford.
Despite eight companies registering as bidders on the project, Industries Lafleur Inc. was the only company to bid on the tender posted on the municipal website between October 28 and November 25, 2024.
