New Life for Canada Day Festivities

A local resident is going to try to rescue the Wallaceburg Canada Day festivities.

Chris Glassford operates Summit Shows Canada, a local special events business, and figures he can take up the reins fairly seamlessly.

He’s already reached out to the former organizers through the now-defunct Wallaceburg Lions Club, as well as the BIA and Wallaceburg and District Chamber of Commerce.

“Summit Shows Canada has been doing events across Chatham for a couple of years now,” Glassford says. “One of our biggest plans is to create sustainability in the event.”

Perennial favourites like bouncy castles and live entertainment will continue to be part of the event.

A Facebook page has now been started to keep local residents in the loop.

Glassford says it’s on to the planning stages now to have everything in line for July 1st.
