John N Given Public School will live on with a new name and new purpose.
It was a little more than a year ago when LKDSB trustees decided to split the John N. Given English and French streams between Tecumseh Public School and McNaughton Ave PS in Chatham.
Instead of closing the school, the board has decided that special education programs and adult and continuing education programs will be brought together at the school.
The move will improve the experience for students and lower costs for the board.
The building will be renamed and the classes should be ready to go for September.
