New Life for Seized Dogs

Two large breed dogs have been removed from a home in Chatham, but are getting a new lease on life.

The OSPCA seized the animals when the owner refused an order to take them to a vet for treatment.

“We had previous calls for the animals, one of them was under Ontario SPCA Act orders to be seen by a veterinarian,” says Agent Ryan Sparks of the Sarnia Humane Society and OSPCA. “With non-compliance, we were granted a search warrant to check and make sure the dog was ok.”

Sparks says the pup was still in distress and both pets were removed from the home.

The two were taken to the vet and treated for various ailments, and were then officially surrendered by the owners.

One of the dogs has already been adopted, and the other is waiting for a new family.
