It’s a new day for the Parkfield in Chatham and a new future for the former restaurant.
Closed since May, the building is now a recreational centre for Community Living Chatham-Kent members.
Program Director Brad Verfaillie says there’s a good mix of programs and opportunities.
“We provide some training programs for people with respect to internet safety and those types of things,” Verfaillie explains. “We are putting a strong focus on people going out into their community, some people have transitioned into competitive employment, other people have pursued interest in other activities.”
The recreation facility now includes a pool table, shuffleboard and other games, an exercise room, and a small theatre.
The Parkfield, at the corner of Park Avenue East and Bloomfield, held its grand opening last night.
