A piece of Chatham history has new owners.
A family from Toronto recently moved into their new home on Park Street, a property known as Haddington Villa.
The house made headlines last year when the former owner applied to the municipality to have a heritage designation removed because she could no longer afford the up-keep.
Now, with new owners, municipal officials say the 19th century property has been given a new lease on life.
The “Haddington Villa” on Park Street was built in the late 1870s, and has been touted as a combination of Italian and Gothic Revival styles.
