A local politician has a new role to add to his resume.

Chatham-Kent-Leamington MPP Trevor Jones has been named Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade.

Jones, who was first elected to Queens Park in 2022, retains his role of Deputy Government House Leader.

He previously served as one of two Parliamentary Assistants to the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

Parliamentary assistants support ministers with legislative and committee matters, including special projects and assignments that require dedicated leadership. They also play a key role in building relationships and communicating government initiatives across the province.
