New Year’s Eve Crash Results In Impaired Driving Charges

A Pain Court resident is facing impaired driving charges after he rang in the new year by crashing his vehicle into a ditch.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to Pain Court Line in Pain Court on December 31 shortly before midnight, after a vehicle left the road and entered a ditch.

The lone occupant of the vehicle was found still in the driver’s seat but was uninjured. Authorities alleged that he was displaying signs of impairment and was arrested.

After providing breath tests at police headquarters, the 25-year-old Pain Court man was charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. He was later released with a future court date.
