Welcoming newcomers to Chatham-Kent will be the focus of a special conference being held later this week.

Thursday marks the Chatham-Kent Local Immigration Partnership’s 2025 annual Forum.

The event will highlight the importance of creating a welcoming community in Chatham-Kent, and the positive impacts immigrants and newcomers bring to the communities they choose to call home.

“Chatham-Kent continues to grow as a diverse and inclusive community” says CK LIP Coordinator Lara Olukolu. “The forum will highlight the work done in Chatham-Kent over the past five years as part of the CK LIP Theory of Change Strategic Plan, and showcases the positive impact immigration brings to communities.”

Keynote speaker Pedro Antunes, Chief Economist, Conference Board of Canada will be sharing insights on Canadian immigration, housing and economic trends including how immigration supports economic development and growth in local communities.

Everything gets underway at 11 o’clock in Ballroom A at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre.
