It’s the start of a new era for the Sarnia Sting hockey club.

The team officially has new owners in the form of a partnership between Derian Hatcher and David Legwand.

Sting President Bill Abercrombie says it’s business as usual.

“Every person that has been here is going to continue to be here and they’ll stay in the same roles,” says Abercrombie. ” Derian will move back to the area after his kids finish school in June and then he plans on living in Marine City and he’ll be here everyday starting next season.”

Derian Hatcher is a Michigan native and played for 16 seasons in the NHL before retiring in 2008. David Legwand was also born in Michigan and currently plays for Ottawa.
