Chatham-Kent-Leamington MPP Rick Nicholls is disappointed with the Wynne government’s speech from the throne. 
The Ontario Government announced a reduction in electricity bills for rural residents and small businesses, but Nicholls says it’s too little, too late.
“They announced an 8% reduction in hydro rates. Basically what they’re doing is taking outthe provincial portion of the HST,” Nicholls says. “But keep in mind this is the same government that scrapped the Clean Energy Benefit just last year, which (would have) provided a 10% reduction.”
Nicholls is also disappointed that natural gas wasn’t brought up, since the industry employs many in our area, and has been a hot topic recently.
