Organizers are already looking ahead to the next Dresden Night Market.

With an estimated 17,000 people taking in Saturday’s summer market, organizer Morena McDonald says they are slowly beginning the process of planning for the next event.

“I think our Christmas event’s going to come back, we’re taking a bit of a break before we launch the details for that,” McDonald says. “We’re taking everything we’ve learned from this and apply it to the Christmas market in December.”

McDonald says the event drew shoppers from across Chatham-Kent and beyond, with a number of visitors from out of town who heard about the event through shared posts on social media.

“Lots of positive vibes, everyone was smiling, it was a really exciting day.”

Over 70 vendors lined the streets of downtown Dresden, along with live entertainment, food trucks, and a pop-up patio bar featuring local craft breweries.

A 50/50 draw was held raising money for the Dresden Sidestreets Youth Centre. The winner and the youth centre both walked away with roughly $2800.
