It’s been a long time coming, but ServiceOntario offices in Chatham and Dresden are removing the need for pre-booked appointments.
The two locations have not allowed walk-ins since November, 2020 to prevent long lineups and customers having to wait outdoors to renew driver’s licenses, plate stickers, or health cards, among other provincial services.
“Even as we have begun transitioning out of the peak of the pandemic we are still seeing fluctuations in patrons visiting our offices from other areas,” municipal officials said in a media release. “We have been able to make some operational changes that we believe will provide solutions to these business surges.”
The offices will resume regular service starting on Monday. Officials say while no appointment is necessary, those looking to schedule their visit for their own convenience are welcome to do so by calling 311 (locally) or 519-360-1998 or by emailing CK311@chatham-kent.ca.
