Another year, another slight for the 1934 Chatham Coloured All Stars.

Canada’s Baseball Hall of Fame released the names of this year’s inductees this morning, including former Expos pitcher Denis Boucher and former Blue Jays right fielder Jesse Barfield. However, the All Stars didn’t make the cut.

The first all-black team to win a provincial championship in Ontario was named to Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame last year.

The induction ceremony for the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame class of 2023, which also includes longtime Manitoba coach and executive Joe Wiwchar and former Oakland A’s right-hander Rich Harden, is set for June 17th in St Marys.

Also being honoured that day will be former Blue Jay first baseman John Oledrud and broadcaster Jacques Doucet, who were members of the Class of 2020 but have been unable to attend an induction ceremony.
