No big changes in leadership at the two largest publically-funded school boards in the region.
Elections were held this week for both the Lambton Kent and St Clair Catholic District School Boards.
At the LKDSB, Randy Campbell has been re-elected as chair with Derek Robertson holding on to the vice-chair position.
“I appreciate the support of the Board and I look forward to continuing to lead the Board of Trustees as Chair,” said Campbell. “As we continue to be challenged by the pandemic, we will ensure that the best interests of students, staff and parents/guardians are at the forefront of our decision-making.”
“I am pleased to be re-elected as Vice-Chair of the Board,” said Vice-Chair Robertson. “I look forward to continuing the work of supporting the Board’s Mission, Vision and Strategic Priorities, as well as collectively making the best decisions for the Board’s current and future needs through effective governance that prioritizes student achievement and well-being.”
John Van Heck was acclaimed to the position of Chair of the Board at the SCCDSB, and Mat Roop was acclaimed Vice-Chair.
“God holds us in His hands and has gifted us with an exceptionally faith-filled and talented senior leadership team,” says Mr. Van Heck. “Please extend to our staff across the district our appreciation for all that they do to support our students and families.”
“Thank you to my colleagues for the privilege of serving as the Vice-Chair of the Board for another term,” says Mr. Roop. “I want to assure you that I will be here to serve all of you in any way possible, in support of our students and our vision of Catholic Education – Future Ready.”
The term of office for the positions expires in November 2022.
