Spokesman Tim Mifflin says the 65th annual No Child Without a Christmas Campaign is underway, having helped over 1400 families in Chatham-Kent last year.

“While we’re called the Chatham Goodfellows, we also cover the former Townships of Dover and Chatham, Harwich Township, and we cover Raleigh and Merlin areas in partnership with our friends at the Merlin Legion and the Merlin Kiwanis Club,” Mifflin says.

Applications will be accepted through the main office at 519-354-1146 starting on November 12th through December 6th.

Meantime the Goodfellows have honoured some of their biggest supporters.

Chatham Towing was presented with the 2019 President’s Award for over 40 years of support.

Linda Haskell was named this year’s Mrs Goodfellow. Years ago she relied on the No Child Without a Christmas program to help provide for her own kids after her husband passed away, and has gone on to be one of the organization’s most dedicated volunteers. She was presented with the honour at last night’s campaign launch by her son, current Goodfellows president, Tim Haskell.

This year’s Porchlight fundraiser will be held December 2nd, followed by the Street Sales on December 13 and 14.

Toy packaging will take place at 70 Leeson Drive December 9th to the 12th with delivery slated for the 17th.

Food packages will be put together at the Spirit and Life Centre on December 18th and then handed out later that day.
