Chatham-Kent Police have put the wraps on their annual Festive RIDE campaign with relatively few charges laid.

Authorities say from November through to the beginning of January, officers conducted 23 RIDE check points with 2894 vehicles checked. In all, 15 roadside tests were administered but no impaired driving arrests were made at RIDE program locations.

However, police say multiple Highway Traffic Act infractions were identified, one three-day warning was issued, and 25 impaired drivers were arrested during the campaign’s timeframe.

Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind motorists that impaired driving enforcement continues year-round.
