No New COVID Cases, Vaccination Rates Increase

As the province moves into step one of its reopening plan, Chatham-Kent’s COVID numbers are holding steady. Public Health says there are no new infections to report and just 14 active cases across the municipality.

There are four patients at the Health Alliance being treated for the virus, one of whom is in the ICU.

As far as hospital occupancy goes, half of the ICU beds are now in use, and the medical, surgical, and critical care occupancy sits at just over 76%.

Ontario is reporting 574 new cases province-wide today along with another 4 deaths linked to COVID-19.

Public Health says 65% of Chatham-Kent residents over the age of 12 have now received at least one dose, and 11% are now fully vaccinated with both shots.

Another mobile clinic is being added for anyone 18 and older, this time in Ridgetown. It’s being held in Wilson Hall at Ridgetown College on Thursday, June 17 using Moderna for first and second doses. It’s a different booking system than the mass clinic in Chatham.  Call 519-354-0070 x614 to book an appointment.
