No Teacher Job Action Planned…Yet

With students gearing up to head back to school on Monday, officials with the local English Catholic board are reassuring parents it will be business as usual.

Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association members have been in a legal strike position since December 21st, although at this point no job action has been announced.

A notice was posted on the St Clair Catholic District School Board website Friday morning that all schools will be open as normal on Monday and the board will keep parents updated on any new developments.

Labour relations between the Ministry of Education and teachers’ unions – both public and Catholic – have been strained over the last few months as contract negotiations drag on.

Talks between the province, school boards, and the OECTA are expected to resume next week.
