Chatham-Kent is celebrating Seniors’ Month by recognizing older adults who have made an impact on the local community.
Nominations are now open for the 2026 CK Senior Achievement Awards, which will honour adults aged 60+ who have reached significant milestones and made exceptional volunteer contributions throughout Chatham-Kent.
An impartial selection committee endorsed by Mayor Darrin Canniff select the Chatham-Kent Senior of the Year.
“Everyone knows someone who has made a difference—whether through a group effort or as an individual. This is your chance to tell us about that person so we can acknowledge their contributions,” said Canniff in a news release.
Residents can submit nominations online through the Let’s Talk CK website or by calling 519-360-1998 Ext. 3001. Nomination forms will also be available at all Chatham-Kent municipal centres and libraries. The deadline for submissions is June 30.
Recipients will be announced during the Aging Well Conference on September 16 at Hidden Hills Golf and Country Club.
The Senior Achievement Awards has recognized more than 1,000 members of the Chatham-Kent community since the 1980s.
