When Chatham-Kent council meets online tonight, they will look to approve the sale of municipal land on Dell Street to Wallaceburg’s North Element for $40,000.
North Element produces ice melt out of its Wallaceburg facility on Garnet Street.
The land used to be the property of a former Chatham-Kent Hydro electrical substation.
Although they received a higher offer, Chatham-Kent administration is recommending the selling of the land to North Element because the property is next to the company’s current facility and will be used to expand their business operations.
