A local resident is facing a long list of charges following a traffic stop near Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.
The Ontario Provincial Police said an officer stopped a passenger vehicle in a parking lot on Communication Road near Creek Road on Wednesday at around 1:35 a.m., after seeing drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
While the driver was not impaired, police said they had a suspended driver’s licence and were committing several other offences.
A 21-year-old from Chatham was arrested without incident and is now charged with driving while under suspension, driving without a validated permit, failing to surrender an insurance card, using a plate not authorized for the vehicle, failing to apply for a permit, driving at an unlawful hour with a G1 licence, and failing to be accompanied by a qualified driver with a G1 licence.
The vehicle has also been impounded for seven days.
