Introducing Nurse No. 9
Nine Chatham-Kent businesses have come together to develop and produce their own hand sanitizer.
After seeing the need both nationally and locally Andrew Thiel of Abstract Marketing assembled a local group of super heroes to get the job done.
“This was a true full community effort,” said Thiel.
The project involves Greenfield Ethanol and the new Bootlegger Distillery in Bothwell teaming up with Heritage Dental, the Chatham Denture Specialists, Fox Farms, Impact Signs, First Choice Disaster Restoration, Platinum Produce and Abstract.
Joy Kilby and 99.1’s own Greg Hetherington also helped the cause.
After finishing the first batch, Bootlegger Distillery made the first delivery to CK Public Health. 234 litres of made in C-K hand sanitizer. Some of that batch was already delivered to Family Service Kent, who were in dire need.
“CK sure comes together when needed,” adds Thiel. “We would not want to be anywhere else during something like this!”
The product has been dubbed Nurse No. 9, a salute to all health care workers and a nod to the nine local businesses who came together to make it happen.
Bootlegger is now working on a much larger second batch of 1,250 litres, hoping to begin distribution next week.
