A man has been arrested after a verbal argument ended with an object being thrown at a woman.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a domestic disturbance at an unspecified location in Chatham on Tuesday shortly before 8 p.m.
Authorities arrived to find that a woman had been struck by an object, which was thrown by a man during an argument. The woman declined medical attention.
Following an investigation, police also learned that the man had previously threatened and assaulted the woman.
While the man fled the scene before officers arrived, a suspect was later located in the area and arrested. He is now charged with assault with a weapon, assault, and uttering threats.
He was later released from custody with a November court date.
