The Ontario Energy Board has given the green light to a merger between Entegrus Powerlines and St Thomas Energy.
Entegrus CEO Jim Hogan says the customers won’t notice any change on their bills.
“If there is some benefit, I think it’s going to come in that we have many more resources now to assist us if there’s an emergency, when there’s power outages when the big storms come through, we’ve got some additional engineering staff. So we’ll have a lot more services and employees so that we can do everything we can to provide a better service than we have in the past,” says Hogan.
Hogan says the merger comes at a great time when local communities are growing.
The merger takes effect April 1st, becoming the 10th largest local distribution company in the province with over 58,000 customers.
