A Chatham woman is facing charges, accused of assaulting a police officer.
Authorities responded to a complaint about an unwanted person on Grand Avenue East yesterday afternoon, and say when the woman was asked to leave, the suspect became belligerent and tried to punch the officer and kicked them in the leg.
The 38-year-old was arrested and released with a date in court in August.
