A Wallaceburg woman is facing several charges after allegedly hitting and threatening a police officer during an impaired-driving arrest.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to reports of an erratic driver on Langstaff Line in Wallaceburg at around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Authorities located the driver, who became uncooperative with the officer and attempted to walk away. This led to a brief struggle where the driver allegedly threatened and struck the officer.
As a result, a 25-year-old Wallaceburg woman is now charged with impaired driving, driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit, resisting a peace officer, assaulting a peace officer, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, failing to provide insurance, and failing to provide a vehicle permit.
She has since been released and will answer the charges in court next month.
