Officers Responding To Crash Arrest Man Violating Release Conditions

Police officers responding to a collision on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent, instead found a man allegedly violating his release conditions.

The Ontario Provincial Police said officers received a report about the collision in the westbound lanes of the highway, west of Kent Bridge Road at around 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Upon arrival, police found that a collision had not occurred and instead located a man on a motorcycle.

Following an investigation, officers learned that the man was violating the conditions of an existing release order and he was arrested.

As a result, a 40-year-old man from St. Albert, Alberta is charged with failing to comply with a release order. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
