The Ontario Health Coalition is hoping to put more pressure on the Ontario government over the state of long term care through the pandemic.

Organizers expect more than a thousand people province-wide to attend question period in the Legislature at 10:30 this morning – virtually, of course.

The group accuses LTC Minister Merrilee Fullerton of failing to “express contrition for the deaths of almost 4,000 residents and staff from COVID-19 in Ontario’s LTC homes through the pandemic, many of them preventable.”

The Health Coalition says the goal is to pressure the government to address non-existent accountability, expansion of for-profit LTC, and onerous restrictions on long term care residents.
