C-K’s mayor is declaring the recent sale of the Public Works garage to MSSC and Onbelay Automotive in Chatham a true C-K success story.

MSSC is looking to transfer its stabilizer bar production facility from Kentucky to Chatham in November, creating 125 direct employment opportunities and an additional 125 indirect jobs.

The municipality sold the garage for $750,000.

Mayor Darrin Canniff says the transaction is a testament to Chatham-Kent and showcases the potential for local investment.

“It makes a big statement on Chatham-Kent and what it’s like to do business here and our workforce, we’re really excited about that,” Canniff says.

Chatham-Kent also recently approved a $4.3 million tender for a new Public Works fleet garage in Chatham.
