No new COVID-19 related deaths are being reported in Chatham-Kent on Wednesday, but one new outbreak has been declared.

According to Chatham-Kent Public Health, there are currently three active outbreaks in CK, one at a local group home, another at St. Andrew’s residence in Chatham, and the third at Village on the Ridge in Ridgetown.

As well, the municipality is averaging 35 new COVID-19 cases per day.

In its weekly surveillance report, public health said 239 new COVID cases have been reported since February 5.

There are still 14 patients with the virus being treated at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, 10 of whom are there primarily for COVID-19.

Four patients with the virus are in the ICU, and another two are in the hospital’s Progressive Care Unit. The oldest COVID patient is 92 years old, while the youngest is 25.

Starting this week, public health will now only share COVID-19 information on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
