One person has been arrested, and police are still looking for another following a break-and-enter in Wallaceburg.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said two people were captured on video surveillance cameras breaking into a Wallaceburg home through a basement window on the morning of August 28. Several items were reported stolen from the residence during the break-in.
After reviewing the surveillance footage, officers issued arrest warrants for a 40-year-old Walpole Island man and a 31-year-old Port Lambton woman.
Police responded to a report of a suspicious person on James Street at around 7:15 p.m. on Sunday and located the Walpole Island man. He was arrested and is now charged with break and enter, theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000, and possession of a controlled substance. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
