Improvements may soon be coming to the Lord Selkirk Bridge in Wallaceburg.
Late last week, the province announced $3-million in funding to repair the McNaughton Avenue span through the Connecting Links program.
The bridge is currently under load restrictions and has been closed a few times for maintenance in the last year or two, but hasn’t undergone a major restoration since 2010.
Municipal officials said last fall that even if the provincial funding was approved, additional money would still be needed through Chatham-Kent’s bridge lifecycle budget.
