A local man is facing charges following a coordinated drug bust in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service Intelligence Unit conducted a traffic stop on King Street on Wednesday, while officers with the Critical Incident Response Team executed a search warrant at a Grey Street residence as part of an ongoing drug investigation.
During the traffic stop, officers arrested the driver and seized 49 grams of suspected fentanyl, 9.2 grams of cocaine, and a large quantity of Canadian currency.
The search of the home also turned up digital scales, packaging material, and a small amount of fentanyl.
A 48-year-old Chatham man is now charged with possession of fentanyl and cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. He has since been released from custody with a future court date.
