The local candidates representing Chatham-Kent-Leamington and Lambton-Kent-Middlesex faced off in a combined debate at the Civic Centre last night.

The event, hosted by the Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce, touched on various issues ranging from wind turbines and water wells to high speed rail and highway safety.

After a promise to twin Highway 3 in Essex County yesterday, NDP leader Andrea Horwath takes her campaign back to Toronto today.

PC leader Doug Ford will be making stops in London and Windsor, while Liberal Leader Kathleen Wynne heads to Eastern Ontario.

Meantime if you’re still waiting for your voter card to arrive in the mail, you’re not the only one.

Canada Post says a processing issue has resulted in delayed delivery of the cards to an estimated 500-thousnd people across the province.

While many advance polling stations closed yesterday, voters looking to cast their ballot ahead of the June 7th election can do so at their local returning office through June 6th.

Mail-in ballots have to be sent no later than 6 o’clock tomorrow evening.
